The show that was the hit of the Public Theatre's season and was thought to be Broadway's next big hit as well has received its closing notice. According to producers, they have yet to have a week where they make enough profit to cover their operating costs, let alone making enough to pay back initial investments. While the show will close well before the TONY awards, they still have a chance to be nominated for awards as was the case with last season's revivals of Finian's Rainbow and Ragtime which closed well before TONY season.
